This summer, the first of Virgin Atlantic’s new A350 aircrafts will take off from Heathrow’s runways headed for New York. The airline has ordered a total of 12 A350s, which will be delivered over the next two years. The new aircraft has been specially designed to provide comfort and style throughout and boasts a wide range of new features and innovations.
In Economy, customers can expect increased comfort courtesy of upgraded seats, designed using bespoke fabrics and with a six-way adjustable headrest. Seats will be arranged in a 3-3-3 configuration and each seat will have its own USB port. What’s more, passengers will be able to enjoy the next generation entertainment system, which can be controlled by personal devices, on their individual 11.6-inch seatback screen.
Premium customers will be grateful the increased storage areas on the A350, including a side amenity pocket in addition to upper and lower seatback stowage. The new 13.3-inch seatback screens are the biggest ever to be installed in Virgin’s Premium cabins and passengers can look forward to viewing the best of the new intuitive entertainment system from luxurious, custom leather seats.
The A350’s new Upper Class suite has been designed to provide flyers with a perfect retreat in the air. Every seat faces towards a window and can be reclined into a fully flat bed, while higher walls and deployable screens offer a greater level of privacy. All suites will feature two USB sockets as well as an AC socket adaptable for UK, US & EU plugs. Every Upper Class guest will enjoy the benefit of Virgin Atlantic’s largest ever inflight entertainment screen at 18.5 inches.
The pièce de résistance of the A350 is a unique new space for Upper Class customers christened The Loft. The largest social space across any of Virgin Atlantic’s business class cabins, The Loft is a place to socialise with friends or colleagues. Up to eight Upper Class customers can drink or dine in The Loft or enjoy content together on the 32-inch screen using Bluetooth headphones. All of the chairs will be fitted with seatbelts so that passengers can continue to use the space even during turbulence.
