Last week Newcastle International Airport reported that it had served more than 5.35 million passengers in the year leading up to 31 December 2018, its highest number of passengers for any one year in the last decade.
The airport now flies direct to over 80 destinations in Europe and the Americas, with increased low-cost capacity adding to the number of destinations available being a key factor in the successful year.
The airport has also earned praise for its outstanding customer service in 2017, with recognition coming from accolades such as ‘Airport of the Year’ (North of England Transport Awards) and best in category for customer service in Europe (Airport Council International’s Airport Service Quality Awards).
