Potential Southern Railway drivers’ strike from 27 July

Southern Railway could face fresh strikes as drivers are balloted on walkouts over pay.

The announcement from ASLEF union comes as its members prepare to begin a ban on overtime on 29^th June in a separate, long-running dispute over driver-only trains, which has continued over the past 15 months with services often severely affected as a result.

The fresh vote being put to ASLEF members follows the failure of months of talks to resolve differences over pay, which could result in driver strikes from 27^th July.
