The union for Portugal’s SEF immigration office has called a strike on Thursday 24th and Friday 25th August to protest the government’s failure to respond to the sector’s difficulties. Thousands of passengers at Lisbon airport are expected to be affected by the industrial action.
Should the strike go ahead, it will affect 30,000 passengers and 85 flights at Lisbon airport. Those passengers planning to travel on those days are advised to allow additional time to clear border controls when entering and exiting Portugal.
