Regional train bosses are urging passengers to steer clear of the railways this weekend with three days of strike action expected to cause chaos.
Less than half of Northern Rail services will run over Saturday, Sunday and Monday and transport bosses have advised passengers to avoid traveling if they can or allow extra time and plan their journeys carefully.
Services running are expected to be ‘extremely busy’ and Northern bosses have advised people to only travel if they have to.
Bus replacement services will also be in operation, while Northern Rail has said that people travelling may be able to use their train ticket with other operators.
