Workers on the London Underground workers have announced their intention to stage a 24-hour strike and take other forms of industrial action in early May. This announcement has come about in a dispute over the sacking of a colleague.
Members of the Rail, Maritime and Transport union (RMT) based mainly at London Bridge will walk out at 10 pm on Sunday 7th May. In addition, they have threatened to launch an indefinite campaign of action which will include not servicing ticket machines and not challenging passengers who refuse to produce a valid ticket.
Further information of how services will be affected is not available at this point.
