A general transport strike scheduled to take place in Italy on Friday 8th June is expected to significantly disrupt air, rail and road travel across country.
Flight attendants at Air Italy, as well as pilots and flight attendants at Blue Panorama, will walk out from 1pm until 5pm, local times. According to Eurocontrol, air traffic controllers will also join the general strike during these hours.
Staff at the rail companies FSI, Trenitalia, NTV and Trenord will be on strike for eight hours, from 10pm on Thursday 7th June until 6am on Friday 8th June.
Public service is also expected to be affected in several cities. Travellers are advised to check their itineraries well in advance before travel.
