Winter Storm Niko expected to cause flight delays on 9 February as it moves through the north-eastern region of the United States.
The storm is predicted bring heavy snow to much of the Interstate 95 Northeast corridor throughout this evening and into tomorrow. It has been suggested that some areas should expect half a foot or more in a short amount of time.
The snow will make travelling conditions difficult and is expected to cause significant flight delays in Boston, New York, and Philadelphia.
Winter storm warnings have now been posted by the National Weather Service for all of southern New England, southward into eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and parts of northern Delaware and northern Maryland. This includes Boston, Providence, Hartford, New York City and Philadelphia. Winter storm watches extend into southern New Hampshire and coastal Maine and south into parts of northern Maryland north of Baltimore and Washington D.C., as well as parts of eastern West Virginia.
