In November, the European Commission announced that, if the UK were to leave the European Union (EU) without a deal, UK citizens would still be permitted to travel to the EU without a visa for up to 90 days in a 180-day period.
This week, the European Parliament in Brussels voted to approve the legislation necessary to ensure this proposition. It has therefore been confirmed that UK citizens will not need a visa for short stays in the EU after Brexit – even in the event of a n0-deal exit.
This new confirmation follows the announcement of a few weeks ago that flights will continue to operate between the UK and EU even in a no-deal scenario.
While these assurances are comforting for both business and leisure travellers, there is still a huge amount of uncertainty surrounding the outcome of Brexit. Therefore, we advise all of our clients to continue to plan and prepare for any eventuality.
