Rail services in the north of England may be disrupted next Monday as Northern Rail workers are due to stage a 24-hour walkout.
Trade union RMT has confirmed that a strike against Northern Rail, or Arriva Rail North, is set to go ahead despite talk of cancellations.
The guard and driver members of the union will walk out for 24 hours on Monday 13 March.
The industrial action is the result of a dispute over the introduction of more driver only operated trains, which the union argues could be potentially dangerous.
Northern Rail has sought to reassure customers that they have plans in place to keep passengers moving and has said that they will run a revised service with more information to be released shortly.
