The staff of Southern Rail have called fresh strike action in the long-running dispute over the introduction of driver-only operation.
The 24-hour walkout will take place on Tuesday 4th April as representatives from the union RMT continue to press the company for a firm date for talks over the future role of guards. The union has said that it would reconsider calling the strike to allow for talks to take place.
Train drivers’ union ASLEF agreed a fresh deal with Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR) earlier this week and will not ballot its members on the new agreement.
