A number of leading airlines have now banned Samsung’s troubled Galaxy Note 7 smartphone over the fire risks posed by the device’s lithium-ion battery. This is not a blanket ban and all routes are not affected so anyone planning on travelling with this phone in their possession should check with the individual airline prior to travel.
The airlines imposing bans and restrictions include:
Nippon Airways
Japan Airlines
Air Berlin
Lufthansa
Alitalia
British Airways
Asiana
Cathay Pacific
Singapore Airlines
China Airlines
EVA Air
AirAsia
Korean Air
Australian and New Zealand airlines have banned the phone from all planes
