LNER is advising passengers to check before they travel to confirm their service is running as planned. Due to industrial action at one of their key train service providers, LNER services are currently subject to short-notice cancellation or changes. To minimise the impact, they are swapping some of their 9 and 10-car trains for smaller 5-car trains with a different seating plan on some routes. As a result some services will be busier than normal and existing seat reservations will no longer apply. Customers impacted by a cancelled or amended service can join alternative LNER service on the same day, in the original class of travel or claim a full refund from their original point of sale (unused tickets only). Existing tickets can be used on the new service but they recommend making a new seat reservation in advance. This impact is expected to continue for the next two to three weeks.
