Train staff have announced two more days of strikes as a long-running industrial dispute continues in the run-up to Easter.
Staff working for Arriva Rail north will walk out from 00:01 on Monday 26th March and Thursday 29th March.
The workers’ union RMT has been in talks with Northern (Arriva Rail North) for months in a row over plans to reduce the number of guards on trains, which it says will endanger safety.
Rail workers represented by RMT have already carried out 14 days of coordinated strike action in addition to the two days planned later this month.
Northern will run a limited service on these days, with many services finishing much earlier than usual. Passengers are advised to plan their travel in advance.
