Due to the severe weather we are currently experiencing in the UK, fewer trains are able to run on all lines.
Virgin Trains East Coast (VTEC) has warned that services running across the whole network may be cancelled, delayed by up to 80 minutes or revised, with disruption expected to continue until the end of the day.
In light of this situation, VTEC has lifted travel restrictions across all of its services on Wednesday 28th February, Thursday 1st and Friday 2nd March. Any customers booked to travel on a VTEC service today, may travel on an earlier or later service than booked or may defer travel until Thursday or Friday.
Virgin has asked that those not delaying travel until Thursday or Friday travel on a train close to the time of their original booked service. VTEC apologises that services are expected to be busier than usual.
VTEC is aiming to run a full timetable over the next few days but advises that there may be some short notice cancellations or delays to services. Passengers are recommended to check the Virgin Trains East Coast website for the most up to date information.
