In December 2017, EasyJet confirmed its acquisition of German carrier Air Berlin. The agreement meant that EasyJet would lease 25 of Air Berlin’s aircraft and take control of operations at Tegel airport in the German capital.
The budget airline is now operating flights from Berlin Tegel, with a plan in place to transition staff and aircraft to their fleet over the coming months. EasyJet has sought to advise customers that it will take some time to complete the changeover at Tegel.
During this transition period, some flights may be operated by partner airlines on behalf of EasyJet. As a result, aircraft and seat configuration may look a little different to their standard fleet and overhead locker space may vary but departure and arrival times will remain unchanged.
By the end of the summer 2018, all flights from Berlin Tegel will be fully operated by EasyJet.
