A planned general strike on Tuesday 10th October, called by unions to protest government reforms to the country’s labour code, is expected to disrupt train schedules and air travel in France.
The rail disruption is expected to begin at 7pm (local time) on Monday 9th October and conclude at 8am on Wednesday 11th October. The strike could affect regional, intercity, and high-speed TGV trains.
Several French air traffic controller unions have also called for industrial action in support of the national strike on Tuesday, 10 October. As a result, there will be possible delays and cancellations to flights between the UK and France on Monday evening and all day Tuesday.
All UK carriers may be affected so passengers are advised to check the status of their flight before travelling – from 18:00 on the 9th to 03:00 on 11th October.
