Security guards at Barcelona-El Prat Airport plan to stage a series of partial strikes from Friday 4th August in a dispute over working conditions.
The strikes will take place every Friday, Sunday and Monday in August from 5.30am to 6.30 am, 10.30 am to 11.30am, 4.30pm to 5.30pm and 6.30pm to 7.30pm (local time).
No minimum services will be guaranteed.
While the strike has not begun yet, security workers have been staging a work-to-rule slowdown. As a result, passengers flying from Barcelona Airport this week have had long wats to get through security control and reach the departure lounge.
Passengers travelling from Barcelona in August are advised to arrive at the airport early, allowing plenty of extra time before departure.
