A number of severe weather warnings have been issued for parts of Beijing today, Thursday 6th July, due to a torrential rainstorm which has caused widespread flooding throughout the city.
A red alert for rain was issued for the northeast Beijing suburb of Miyun this afternoon at 4.40pm after precipitation reached 150 millimetres.
The storm has caused havoc for commuters and travellers throughout Beijing, and is responsible for the cancellation of 278 Air China flights at Beijing Capital International Airport.
